Washington’s constitution states that “It is the paramount duty of the state to make ample provision for the education of all children.” However, right now, that is not the case. The McCleary Decision ruled that just throwing money at our education system, let alone inadequate amounts, isn’t enough. This is because education in WA is outdated and not always directed in the best interests of students, but our legislature continues to neglect this fact.
